Greetings from the WGHR!

 

The Working Group For Human Rights in India and the UN (WGHR) has the greatest pleasure to invite you to join us in the inaugural session of the first nation-wide Live Webcast of India's 3rd Universal Periodic Review from the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on the 4th May 2017 and its continuous viewing till 10 PM. Being organized in 50 cities across the country.

 

This Live telecast is being held in Delhi and over 50 cities across India. The Delhi telecast will be inaugurated by  Mr. Virendra Dayal, a Former Member of the National Human Rights Commission of India [ 1993– 2003 ] and Former Under Secretary General, United nations & Chef de Cabinet.

 

We have also invited the Hon'ble Chair and Members of the NHRC to participate in this session along with the Chairpersons and Members of all other National Human Rights Institutions, including  invitees from the Ministry of External Affairs, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of  Social Justice & Empowerment, the Ministry of Women & Children, etc., senior diplomats from the European Union and various embassies in Delhi, representatives from all UN bodies in  and the larger  representatives of civil society  and the media.

We would in addition be happy if you could also inform the larger community of your staff and colleagues across the country of the webcast taking place in the cities across India and encourage them to attend the screenings in large numbers. Please also share this also on your Facebook  and other social media to make it popular. We are sharing with you attached detail of the event organizers in about 50 cities as of now.
